At the age of 28, Joshua Dean knows a thing or two about entrepreneurship.  He is currently the owner and managing broker of Joshua Dean Real Estate, a residential real estate company in the Chicago suburbs.  But Joshua Dean is not just another real estate entrepreneur.  While the real estate market in most parts of the nation, including Chicago, are experiencing a slower pace, Joshua Dean and his company are leading the nation in a new breed of property marketing and information distribution for real estate buyers and sellers

While just a junior in college at Northern Illinois University, Joshua Dean started his own website & graphic design company, College City Web.  Although not at the time an experienced designer himself, Joshua Dean found creative and talented design students on campus that were willing to serve as independent contractors for his company.  His grass roots approach to acquiring new business meant beating the streets with door-to-door introductions, cold calling and word-of-mouth networking.  Although difficult, this experience would prove to be vital for Joshua’s future business ventures. 

After graduating from college in 2002, Joshua went to work for a small, local real estate company in Naperville, Illinois.  With just one year of highly successful real estate sales under his belt, Joshua Dean had an idea that could change the way buyers and sellers purchased and marketed homes.  At the age of 25, Joshua Dean invested $250,000 of his own money earned in the real estate market to fund a private start-up venture, creating a consumer product for the residential real estate industry.  He hired a staff of 4 computer programmers and a graphic designer, set up a highly integrated office and created a network infrastructure that could handle the load and demand of his product’s national presence.  Unfortunately, the product idea was too advanced for the real estate market at that time and because there was no history of success with this kind of revolutionary product in the marketplace it was tough convincing investors that their investment would yield the type of return that was projected in the Business & Marketing Plan.  And while Joshua had to shut the company down after just a year and a half, this wouldn’t be the end of his revolutionary real estate ideas.

At the beginning of 2006, Joshua was promoted to the Managing Broker of his company’s new office location in Oswego, Illinois.  For the next year, Joshua would watch the real estate market make a major shift, both socially and economically.  With the advent of many new products in the real estate marketplace, increased technological changes, and a much more advanced real estate consumer, Joshua Dean saw a potential to capitalize on this ever-changing market.  While most other REALTOR’s were continuing to market and sell properties in the same manner as they had been doing for the past 20 years, Joshua Dean was looking to the future and preparing to launch a company that would effectively market properties to this new breed of consumer and provide buyers and sellers with something that they could use to make better real estate decisions - information. 

In June of 2007, Joshua Dean Real Estate officially opened.   A month later, Joshua Dean launched one of the real estate industry’s most effective and comprehensive marketing websites, JoshuaDean.com.  With over 7 months of planning and designing, JoshuaDean.com is the new medium of property sales and real estate consumer education.  Bringing the success of viral and network marketing to the real estate industry, JoshuaDean.com capitalizes on everything that a real estate consumer is looking for.  JoshuaDean.com provides real estate buyers and sellers with a wealth of free information on every facet of the real estate process. Only 6 percent of the estimated 125,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide hold the CCIM designation, which reflects not only the caliber of the program, but also why it is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry.
